HTG TO DESIGN WATER TREATMENT PLANTS AT PUNJAB
Expanding its area of operation, Habitat started its first venture in Punjab. In association with Naandi Foundation, a pioneer in safe drinking water projects, Habitat will be providing consultancy for construction of water treatment plants in as many as 40 sites in Bhatinda, Punjab. A two member team from Habitat recently visited some of the sample sites in the state to have a first hand feel of the terrain. It’s the first time Habitat is working in Punjab and it looks forward to meet the challenges.

HTG completes Evaluation for Caritas
After months of rigorous field visits and table work, the evaluation of tsunami housing programmes by Caritas India/Germany is finally completed. The evaluation exercise consisted of 10 members and focused on three aspects namely Social Equity Assessment, Financial Management and Shelter. Habitat had been invited to evaluate the shelter aspect. Our team consisting of an engineer, an architect and a sociologist looked into different components of the shelter aspects based on which the evaluation was conducted

HTG officials visit SriLanka
The evaluation team from Habitat Technology Group have come back after its month long visit to tsunami affected areas in Sri Lanka. The team led by the chairman and chief architect Sri Shankar had been invited by Cordaid, Netherlands to conduct an evaluation exercise on the status of the housing project, quality of construction and to assess the appropriateness of technology used in the rehabilitation project funded by Cordaid.for the tsunami victims in Sri Lanka. The report has already been prepared and presented to the funding agency.
